Gunotsav 2.0 School Assessment Useful File.Since 2009, Guneetsav program was organized by Gujarat government for all government and aided schools. Considering the implementation and results of Gunotsav program for nine consecutive years, the need to change the Gunotsav program has been felt.
After Gunotsav-5, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of retired Chief Secretary Mr. Sudhir Mokad to consider making the Gunotsav program more intensive by the state government, which also made recommendations for short-term and long-term changes to improve the Gunotsav program.
In the year 2019, Gunotsav 2.0 was launched with the view that instead of the school receiving support only once a year in the Gunotsav programme, regular nutrition and support would increase the school's quality and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Upgrading the Gunotsav program to Gunotsav 2.0 has brought the following changes into the overall process of Gunotsav. Gunotsav 2.0 aims to continuously help identify areas for school improvement through school evaluations taking into account globally established benchmarks from a local perspective. This program will help the schools to prepare a school development plan that will ensure continuous and sustainable development of the school. Gunotsava-2.0 program is a quality oriented dynamic program providing support throughout the year to schools to continuously move beyond their existing level.
Gujarat in the year 2010 for the purpose of institutionalizing a process for quality control of schools by the Government of Gujarat taking into account the experience of Gunotsav programme. School Quality Accreditation Council (GSQAC) was established. This organization is currently operational. GSQAC as an autonomous body under the Education Department will work for continuous quality improvement of schools.
Under Gunotsav 2.0, the schools will be accredited in a phased manner through the accreditation scheme designed keeping in mind the global standards and various quality initiatives of the state government. Schools will be assessed on fixed criteria throughout the year and schools will be provided with support to achieve the targets of the School Development Plan according to their individual needs.
All the schools were evaluated in mission mode for three days during Gunotsav. In which only one-third of all schools were covered in external evaluation, instead of external evaluation of 100% of schools will be possible under Gunotsava 2.0.
